BLOG The Exclusive and Royally Revamped Singita Pamushana Reopens

The name Singita is synonymous with exceptional southern African safari experiences which tread lightly on the environment. Singita Pamushana does not let the side down.

The Heritage of Pamushana

Set in the vast 130 000-acre expanse of Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve in Zimbabwe, Pamushana holds pride of place overlooking the Malilangwe Dam from a sandstone outcrop.

The views are outstanding, the service is smiling and unfalteringly excellent and the game viewing is consistent and rewarding.

It would seem that Pamushana could not be any better, yet there’s more to come. The lodge has been re-opened recently after a total refresh which elevates it even further above the norm for this luxury brand.

Excellence Enhanced

In line with its royal heritage, Pamushana emerged from its refurbishment as a place fit for kings. The magnificent architecture has been accentuated to emphasize its magnificent regal design. The existing deck has been enlarged and extended for even better views and 2 additional 2-bedroom suites have been built to cope with demand.

New elements of ebony, amber, gold, ivory and brass have been added to the interior décor to emphasize the regal Shona heritage of the area. Minute details have been adjusted to marry contemporary design with the traditional.

Although these sweeping changes are sure to have a substantial impact on guests’ enjoyment during their southern African safari, the lodge still has a negligible effect on its surroundings.

Everything remains as it should within the Malilangwe environment. The local community continues to benefit from the earnings that the reserve and lodge generate. The dam still shimmers silently in the valley below the lodge, luring elephant, buffalo and antelope to its shores. The reserve still boasts one of the healthiest populations of black rhino and the 14 species of resident eagle, still soar above, unaffected.

You’ll still be astonished by the variety of game species you see during a game drive. Apart from the Big 5, wild dogs, cheetah, sable antelope and Lichtenstein’s hartebeest are all possible sightings during your morning and afternoon guided drives or walking safaris.

You can take a tour to learn more about your hosts in their nearby villages, relax with a spa treatment or visit some of the rock art paintings within the reserve.

Your stay at Singita Pamushana is far more than a luxury southern African safari. By visiting here, you are supporting the important work done by the lodge in conjunction with the Malilangwe Trust to make Africa an even better place.

Get in touch today if you’d like to experience this almost impossibly better version of Zimbabwe’s premier safari destination.
